Clear Lake SP: Campground

Depending on the time of the year, the Lake is not always clear! We went over Labor Day Weekend, and it was completely green, it was still safe to go into the water, but not as much fun as with clear water. There are two campsites on this campground which I recommend (58 and 59). Those are the only two sites where you can camp at the beach, and it is supposed to be your private beach. The annoying part is, that other people don't respect that and walk right over your campsite and are sitting in front of your tent. If you bring your own Kayaks you can start right at your site. There are hiking trails starting at the campground, and my kids liked the Visitor Center a lot. Around sunrise you hear a buzzing over the lake. Those are millions of little fly, luckily they disappear during the day. Would I go again: Yes!
