Housekeeping Camp: Yosemite NP

My very first night in Yosemite was in 2004 in Housekeeping camp. It was my first time in the US, we underestimated the drive from the Bay Area, and arrived at around 8 or 9pm. It was dark, and we had no idea how we are going to find out "tent". We were very pleased and surprised to find an envelope with our name, with a map and direction on how to find out site. Unfortunately it was occupied. But there were enough very nice people there who helped us to find an empty tent. And immediately we got warned that every night bears are coming into the camp. I was very scared about that and did not leave my husband off my side. I think it was the second night, were I woke up because of a very strong smell: It smelled like I am in the zoo. The bear was in the camp, and we saw him running away. However, we also had a small visitor at night sitting on our table, the evidence is on the picture. Housekeeping Camp is a great place to stay. The "tent's" are for up to 4 people, you have your own little patio with a picnic table and fire pit.
